St. Johns Wort

St. John's Wort (Hypericum x inodorum) is a reliable, semi-evergreen, mound-forming shrub for Willamette Valley gardens, typically 2–4' tall and 3–6' wide, producing abundant bright yellow, button-like flowers in summer that attract bees and other pollinators. Grow in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil, water regularly until established then tolerate short dry spells, prune after flowering to shape, and enjoy a hardy, low-maintenance hedge or mass planting suited to local conditions.
