Rosso Striato Fig

Rosso Striato is unique from other striped figs because its reddish and purple stripes appear on a green background. The figs are medium to large size and have a round shape. Rosso Striato figs have red pulp with a complex flavor. Tasters note raspberries among the berry flavors, and a hint of acidity rounds out the sweetness. The red pulp has a nice creamy texture. Rosso Striato is a unifera variety that produces only a main crop of figs. This is a common type not requiring wasp pollination, and the figs’ tight eyes provide good resistance to pests. Rossa Striato figs grow on trees with tri-lobed leaves. Rosso Striato originally comes from Paolo Belloni’s Pomona Gardens. The rare fruit conservatory, known as home to some of the world's tastiest and most unique varieties, is located in a rural area outside the Italian city of Cisternino.

When do we ship cuttings?

Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):

We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.

**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.

Rooted Cuttings(Spring):

We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
