Phat filters use special charcoal carbon, shipped to them after activation with steam at high temperatures. Extra care is taken so that no harmful chemicals enter the filter during activation.  

The 412 charcoal used inside is low density, and tightly-packed carbon increases the porosity of the filter. The conical base on the inside provides even movement of air and ensures it does not escape outside without filtering.

The aluminum mesh also increases airflow on the outside that offers almost 53% free area. No binders or glue is used, and non-pelletized carbon increases the filtering capability of Phat filters.
