This is an outstanding pickling variety for full season production. Plants are open in habit and vigorous, with medium to dark green fruit averaging 10-12cm (4-5") in length.
Excelsior is a parthenocarpic variety with high resistance to Cornyspora and scab, with intermediate resistance to powdery mildew, cucumber mosaic virus, and vein yellowing virus. Its great disease package is well suited to high tunnel growing. Keep plants picked, and they will reward you with loads of cucumbers, the perfect size and shape for making pickles.
