Black Kutfeji Fig

Black Kutfeji figs have dark purple or violet skin and an oval shape. There may be some crackling on the skin. Inside is a dark red pulp with a jammy texture and a slight seed crunch. Black Kutfeji figs have a sweet berry and figgy flavor. Some have described this as an improved Mission style fig. Black Kutfeji trees will grow 5-lobed leaves. This variety has been recommended for growers in cold climates and those looking to add large figs to their collections.

When do we ship cuttings?

Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):

We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.

**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.

Rooted Cuttings(Spring):

We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
