APHIDIUSforce™ CE is a highly effective, natural solution for aphid control. Combining two aphid-targeting parasitoid wasps, Aphidius colemani and Aphidius ervi, this dual-species blend is designed to help manage a wide range of aphid species in both preventative care and early infestation scenarios. Well-suited for growers practicing integrated pest management (IPM), it provides a natural substitute for conventional chemical pesticides.
Once released, Aphidius colemani and Aphidius ervi target aphid colonies by laying their eggs inside aphid nymphs. The larvae hatch and consume the aphids from the inside, causing them to mummify. Once mature, the adult wasps emerge and continue the cycle, seeking out new aphids to parasitize. This process effectively reduces aphid populations without the need for chemical intervention.
Aphidius colemani: Targets small aphids like Green Peach Aphid (Myzus persicae) and Melon Aphid (Aphis gossypii).
Aphidius ervi: Targets larger aphids such as Potato Aphid (Macrosiphum euphorbiae) and Foxglove Aphid (Aulacorthum solani).
Effective Coverage: The combination of these two species effectively controls a broad range of aphid pests, providing reliable aphid control across various species.
Temperature: Optimal between 64°F–75°F.
Humidity: Ideal at 80% relative humidity for best results.
Environment: Performs well in greenhouses, indoor grow rooms, and outdoor gardens.
Year-Round Use: These wasps are not affected by short day length, making them suitable for continuous use in controlled environments.
Storage Before Release: If the aphid “mummies” have not yet emerged, store the bottle in a highly humid, shaded location at 64–80°F. Check twice daily for up to 7 days for the mummies to hatch.
Release the Wasps: Once the mummies begin to emerge, release them at sundown. Open the container and walk among the plants to allow the wasps to fly out naturally.
Concentrate the Release: Focus the release in areas where aphid populations are the highest.
After Release: Do not store emerged wasps in the bottle for more than 18 hours. Store in a humid 45–55°F environment (refrigerator recommended). Do not store pupae for longer than 72 hours.
Preventative: Release 1 per 10 square feet, weekly, as needed.
Hot Spots: Release 5 per 10 square feet, weekly, as needed.
